James Theodore Cohen was born SY 49, on board Stelvik Station. He has one brother named Marcus William and a twin sister named Kelsey Elizabeth. His parents lived and worked on the station, and his grandparents were among the first arrivals upon station activation. After his years in High School James attended Stelvik University as a law student. During his sophomore year at the university he met fellow student Mia Reynolds, and they began dating the following year.
Upon completion of his time in law school James took a job with the station security force in law enforcement. He concluded his masters during his time as a law enforcement officer, was a detective for about a year and a half, before becoming a full lawyer. In SY 71 James and Mia got married and found themselves their own living quarters on the station. Five years into their marriage both James and Mia celebrated the birth of their daughter Paige.
The birth of Paige took a major toll on Mia’s failing health, and by the time Paige had turned five years old Mia had passed away leaving James alone to raise his daughter. At around the same time he was getting into station politics. The death of his wife and failed first election onto the station’s Council of Three took a heavy toll on his mental health.
By the time the SY 84 elections rolled around James had made his second attempt to run for a seat and won almost decisively. His first four years in office were especially good for him, and so when he was nominated to become the new Primarch it was almost a shoe in for him. By SY 88 James had been nominated and elected to the highest office in the station government.
