About Us

Firstly, allow the writers of Stelvik Station to welcome you to our humble little world. Stelvik Station is a Science Fiction simming community that focuses largely on character development, politics, trade, and corporations.

Stelvik Station is not a dystopian science fiction, it’s not utopian, it just is. Another thing of note is that Stelvik Station isn’t hard science fiction. So, don’t expect a lot of techno-babble and the like. And by that, Stelvik Station has some similarities more in line with Elite Dangerous, but we are not Elite Dangerous. If you are uncertain what this is, please feel free to search it on the internet.

What to expect here?

This is a collaborative writing group that has written together on and off for a number of years. While we do appreciate applications from new and potential members, our group is small and very tight knit. For us this is a hobby, and we’ve created a drama free environment. This can potentially change with new members that we know little about and as such we rarely accept new members.

The stories that are written by this group are for the enjoyment of us to write and for those who wish to read them. Expect the reality that your application may be rejected. Though we do make considerations on a case by case basis.

Each corporation, the government, and even some of the smaller business groups operate like various factions. In a sense they are not truly factional, but that is their basic functionality. There are shifting alliances, competitions, etc. from each of the different groups.

Canon

Canon for Stelvik Station is really quite simple. Everything that is contained within the website here is considered canon for the simm itself. That means, if there is a database page for it, if it happened in an episode, etc. it’s canon.

Canon for Stelvik Station does not include any mainstream science fiction media. Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, etc. are not considered canon for Stelvik Station. While we do take inspiration from some of these franchises, we don’t canonize them here. That said, character references or weird situations where “my character teleported from the Star Trek universe to this one” simply won’t work here.

How it works?

Stelvik Station members utilize google docs and email in order to do the collaborative writing. The writing is then sent to the site owner who posts it in the episode. The site owner does not make any alterations, they simply post it. Only the site owner has an account, new members and others will not be permitted to create an account for any purpose.
