In SY 64 Alexandra Ortega was born as the only daughter to Josiah and Ruby Ortega. When she was twelve years old her younger sister Ashley was finally born. Alex would do almost anything for her little sister and even after leaving for Stelvik University in SY 82 would visit her parents and sister quite regularly.
In SY 86 she graduated. Alexandra almost immediately joined the Centrist Movement Party and worked as a poll worker. She gained favor with James Cohen who’d been selected to become Primarch. This allowed for Alexandra to be nominated to run for Councilor in SY 88. She was elected to her first term in office.
Three months after her successful campaign both Josiah and Ruby were killed in a fire that had erupted in their family home. Alexandra was able to get Ashley out, but she couldn’t get her parents out.
Following the fire Alexandra took Ashley in as the girl’s sole caretaker. The fire affected both girls in a similar way because they’d been the survivors from it. Alexandra also never got to really mourn the passing of her parents.
