Zeno Mining Corporation was established by Gerald Morgan in 2292 on Deneva. It began as little more than a mining operation before the headquarters was established in London on Earth. It became publicly traded by 2299, and gained a Starfleet contract three years after that. Gerald Morgan was a descendant of the Morgan family from ancient Earth history prior to spatial flight and warp drive.
Zeno has been owned and operated by the Morgan family for nearly one hundred years. It has held a wide variety of contracts with different entities over the years, but mainly it has served Starfleet as a means to gathering vital minerals and resources. It has had a long history, but it’s never really faced any sort of real controversies.
During the Dominion War the company struggled to keep Starfleet supplied, and it had to seek help from the Ferengi Alliance in goods shipments. By 2388 Howard Morgan had decided to move the company headquarters to the Uvel System after it gained a huge contract with Starfleet to mine there.
The company headquarters has an office on the second deck of the Promenade. All Earth offices have since been closed with its office workforce moving to the station. Zeno Mining Corporation, or ZMC for short, has already established orbital platforms in the system. It also still maintains some orbital mining systems in other parts of the Federation, but a majority of it’s ore refining process and mining has since moved.
