Stelvik Station (SB-812) is a Nor Class Space Station located in the Uvel System, which is in the galactic south. Prior to the Dominion War the Vulcan Science Ship Stelvik discovered the system. Before the system could be surveyed, however, the Dominion War broke out and the planned survey was put on hold. In 2377 Starfleet dispatched survey ships and were able to conduct a full survey.

The discovery of rich mineral deposits in the Uvel System led Starfleet to begin making plans to put a space station in the system. Less than a year later, a derelict Nor Class station was located near the Federation border. Starfleet claimed the station and began efforts to move the station to the Uvel System. By 2380 the station had been relocated, and repair work began.

In 2383 much of the repair work had been completed and the station was mostly habitable. Starfleet assigned Captain James Cohen to command the station and began moving personnel to the station. There are five planets in the Uvel System and a rather large asteroid field. None of the planets are inhabitable, however, and as such the station is the only location for habitation. The station provides a home and defense for the system’s inhabitants.

Stelvik Station is named for the ship that discovered the planetary system. The ship itself was named for a Vulcan scientist from a time before First Contact with Humans. Little is known about the Uvel System other than the rich duranium deposits, and other minerals, and as such it is being setup for mining operations.
