The discovery of the Uvel System led to a number of individuals and different corporations across known Human space to attempt to claim the system. It was Gregori Stelvik, a Russian business owner that was the most successful. In BSY 15, Gregori staked claims to the system itself.
At first Stelvik Station was meant to be a member system for the Confederate Free League, but a disagreement between Gregori and the Confederate government led to something entirely different. Stelvik Station came into operation fifteen years later after three major corporations invested large amounts of money into the project.
Zeno Mining Corporation was looking for a new place to settle after suffering losses with a separate mining incident. Ascension Global was tired of the bureaucratic nonsense that was being a member of the Federation. And, Vitalis Solutions wanted a place where they could conduct research without the prying eyes of the Xeno-Biological Research Commission.
It took fifteen years for the new station to come online, and the three corporations moved their headquarters to it. Employees came, a government was established, and soon there was a population boom. Now it is SY 88 and everything for the station seems to be heading in the right direction.
