Melissa Davis was born in 2349 in York, England. She is the oldest child and twin sister to Maxwell Davis who is eleven minutes younger than she is. Melissa was thirteen years old when she met Dorian Reade after Dorian had moved from London to York with his parents. They were in school together, but it would take a great deal of convincing before Melissa finally accepted an invitation go on a date with Dorian.
By 2370 and after dating through High School and after she was assigned to the USS Ganymede the two were married when she returned home for leave. Dorian had started to work as a Journalist for the Federation News Service at about the same time. Three years later and after being promoted all the way to Petty Officer Third Class the Dominion War had started. The Ganymede took heavy losses during one of their engagements and she was reassigned to tactical due to those losses.
She remained in that position until the end of the war and aboard the Ganymede for much of the time. Melissa felt that it was a time for a career change, however, and returned to Starfleet Academy to go through the Yeoman’s course. As a Second Class Petty Officer she concluded the course in 2376 and was assigned to Starbase 119. Her husband came to live with her on the station. In 2376 her first child, Trevor Reade was born, and now she had the daunting role as mother. Two years later she had been promoted to the rank of Petty Officer First Class, but for the sake of her growing family she remained on the station.
In the year 2378 her second son, Dillon, was born. The opportunity to return to a starship had come and gone because the vessel required her to go onto a deep space assignment. Her husband tried to talk her into going, but she accepted an extension on her orders and remained aboard the station. Melissa enjoyed the quiet life on the station. In 2385 Melissa was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer and would remain on the station for another five years.
In 2388 Melissa decided that the quiet station life was for her, and rather than continuing her career she retired from service. That same year she left the starbase with her husband and two children where both her and Dorian opened Dorian’s. A bar on the station.
